Hailing from Long Island, NY, Mickey Lyxx grew up immersed in the music of legendary bands like Van Halen, Falling In Reverse, and Santa Cruz. Music was always a central part of his life, eventually leading him to pick up the guitar and develop a style that blends melodic precision with high-octane shred. Over the years, he honed his craft under the guidance of renowned guitarists such as Kieran McAuliffe, Mrs. Smith, and Jacky Vincent.
Mickey’s debut single “Defiance” marked his official arrival on the scene, earning over 10,000 views on YouTube and kickstarting a stream of solo releases that quickly gained traction across the metal and guitar communities. His work earned him the Elephant Indie Music Award for Best Metal Single (1849).
In 2021, Mickey signed his first endorsement deal with Elixir Strings, followed by the release of his debut album Freezing Speed, a collection of work written between October 2020 and November 2021. The album featured guest appearances from notable musicians including Jacky Vincent and Mark DiCarlo. In 2022, he joined the roster of Charvel Guitars, standing alongside icons like Eddie Van Halen, Warren DeMartini, and Jake E. Lee.
